The Yule Ball begins today, and lasts until OOC December 28. Please post your character's entrance to the ball here, so we know if you're present, and what fantastic thing you're wearing. Do not post anything else in this thread. If you want to talk to someone, do it in another thread in Balls and Dances.

[=EDIT=] After having a couple of complaints from our unfortunate users on dial-up, I'm going to request that photos of your outfit be no more than 600 pixels in either direction, total. That includes however many pictures it takes to display the outfit.

Tal nervously entered the Great Hall, waiting for Faesocha.

He tugged at his collar, trying to straighten the bow tie. He was dressed in his royal blue dress robes with navy blue trimming. His long sleeved white dress shirt was neatly tucked into his trousers, and he wore a light blue tie that matched his eyes. His wavy dark brown hair was neatly brushed away from his face, and he wore an apprehensive look as he noticed that there seemed to be no one else there yet.

Will strode into the Great Hall, absently adjusting his tie. He was there to chaperone the dance, and ensure that there were no repeats of Unforgiveables being cast...or any lower grade malignant spells, for that matter.

He was dressed in his formal work clothes - black dress robes with a white shirt and black bow tie. He had decided not to alter his long black hair, and so it was pulled back into his accustomed ponytail.

He hoped that nothing untoward would happen tonight, and that his brother had a date, so that he could finally get Tal back.

Faesocha entered gracefully into the ball. He blue dress, accenting her every curve, her arms fully gloved in matching blue. She smiled, her eyes brought out by the blue that matched her dress and her long hair curled and put back. She smiled brightly. Nothing could ruin this night. . she hoped.

Azriel stalked into the Great Hall -- adorned in his favorite dress clothes and thick, square-rimmed glasses.

His clothes were not compiled of layers of dress robes. Instead, he was garbed in something referred to as a "tuxedo." Something he picked up in France in a Muggle Store. Yes, hard to believe but -- it looked rather stylish.

The boy seemed to be enveloped in a shroud of melancholy: dark circles around the eyes -- which lacked their usual shimmer, impaired posture and grace. Something seemed to be plaguing his thoughts.

He's going to be here. . . with her.

Choosing a dark, shady place to hide himself -- unless the right time came -- the Slytherin slipped his lids over his eyes, channeling out all the voices around him.

"Just get through tonight without a scene, Azriel." He thought, intaking a deep, well-needed breath.

Wilma strutted into the ball with confidence. Her blonde hair cascading down her back and across the black dress causing a wonderful contrast. Her heels clicked as she walked into the ball, her wand between her leg and the elastic of a garder, hidden by her dress.

He had taken Roddy's advice and bought new dress robes, this time in a style he was more comfortable wearing. Mandarin collared, the black, raw silk robe was cut to break just across his shoes, tonight, a pair of pointed leather boots, and one hundred twenty five silver buttons ran the whole way down the front. Each cuff was fastened tightly to nearly the elbow with an additional twenty nine of the same bright silver buttons. The robe was lined in a rich, emerald-green satin which wrapped around to trim the hems. Lucius had been right, it was both very festive and very Slytherin without being a distraction from his imposing presence.

He held the door open for his prefect and tried his best to ignore Professor Wackshaw's outrageous choice of gown.

His robes were far simpler than those worn by his head of house. A plain black wool, he wore them open over a black turtleneck and soft, tight-legged black pants. His boots, too, had pointed toes, but they were crepe-soled, the better to move silently in.

He nodded to Snape as he entered the room, and let his eyes take in the crowd. He hoped there would not be trouble, as there had been in the spring, but he would be prepared, if there was.

Naomi arrived at the door sporting a black blazer and black slacks, a rather muggle-inspired suit. Underneath the blazer, she wore a white collared shirt. She topped off her garb with a marron and gold bowtie and black dress shoes. She carried her wand in a custom-made pocket in the blazer's lining.

Her hair was the usual black, but cut very short, like the standard American muggle boys' cut. Her eyes were a normal dark brown, with maroon and gold eyeshadow highlighting her eyelids and black eyeliner bordering the outside of her eyes.

Her face and her hands did not show the burnts she received last week, as she had gone heavy on the concealer. Today, no one had to know that she had been in the hospital for most of last week for full-body burns.

She came out of duty, not out of interest. As a single without the idealized proportions, she had little chance of picking up someone at the ball - not that she wanted someone, anyway; she already had a person to watch at the dance ...

She tried to restrain Kastor, who ran into the ball wearing his normal fare with his wand drawn.

Catherine walked into the hall, long black hair flowing behind her; she was wearing head to toe in black. The dress, the fishnets and the boots. Red lips and smokey green eyes the only colour seen. She stood proudly as she looked around for everyone, looking forward to the dance.

*Is this what you meant Brit?*

Adéla walked into the hall, kitten heals making a little noise as she walked, blue dress flowing around her. She had managed to find a spell to make her hair longer, and she had it up in a bun, bangs sweeping her face she smilled nervously as she looked around. Nodding in Professor Snape’s direction she made her way into the ball.

Elena stormed down the stairs Prada shoes clicking on the ground as she walked. Red hair billowing behind her, she looked around the hall and didn’t see anyone she wanted to talk to. She sighed and made her way in.

Madison walked into the great hall, holding the end of her black and white polka dot dress to keep from tripping in it. She looked around with a bored expression wondering why she even came. She sighed and flicked a stray lock of wavy brown hair out of the way, promising herself she'd at least try to enjoy the evening.

He walked through the door, confident in his outfit, although perhaps it was a bit unconventional. Tight leather pants in a a peacock blue tucked into soft black leather boots which reached his knees. His hirt was black silk, witha black silk cravat at the collar. He was wearing a deep blue velvet frock coat, with black lapels and cuffs, and subtle hints of black and silver embriodery. The coat also extended to the knee, and it was rather full, whic provided a nice contrast to the pants. His hair was tied back at the nape of his neck with a silver raven for show on the tie. A subtle bit of black eyeliner set of the deep blue of his eyes. In all he'd picked an outfit, that, while not strictly traditional, was designed to show off his features and coloring to the best effect possible.

He nodded to the professors, and headed off towards Adéla. It wouldn't do to leave her unaccompanied, after all. That would be a show of poor manners.

Martin entered the ball a little nervously. She was wearing very uncharacteristically feminine attire, a dress that she had designed and prepared herself just for the Yule Ball:

It was of a soft, form-fitting material, black of course, which parted at the right to expose one leg and draped to just barely sweep over the dance floor. A ruffle of midnight-blue satin lined the part down the front of the dress and along the bottom edge to the back. A black choker with a large, smooth, oval faux saphire adorned her neck, and from it, similar blue ruffles hung down and around her forearms to meet at the back. Heels were made to match with faux saphires of their own. She'd managed to make her hair a little wavy and fixed in it a fake flower made from the same rippling satin and some blue beads.

((I drew it myself!))

She was rather proud of her accomplishment, but she was worried how it would be received by the other guests. Skitter II was also present, looking perfectly at ease with a blue-stoned collar of her own. She followed alongside Martin on a long, blue leash.

Martin instinctively sought out Mehetabel in the crowd and spotted him immediately. She attempted to get his attention, by a newly-arrived crowd of students blocked her path, and when they dispersed, Meht had disappeared. "Oh!" She groaning in frustration, "Where'd he go off to?"

((Editted to better match the Thread "Wallflowers".))

Hey everyone. This is the first time I've been able to get on a computer for more than 3 minutes in the past month or so. I'm at school right now, and I don't have a computer at home.

The hard drive on my computer if fried and my parents wont let me use their computer (cause they suck!) I apologize to anyone who may have needed me, and should be getting my hard drive fixed within the next month.
